We depart from Pratovecchio, pedaling along the gentle Arno River cycle path. Our first stop is i Poppi Castle: located in the center of the valley, its majestic shape stands out from the village’s hilltop.
We continue along a path immersed in the rural landscape, among hilltop farms, until we reach Castel San Niccolò Castle, strategically positioned to control the Solano River valley.
We head north to reach the Parish Church and Castle of Romena. After a well-deserved coffee break at the Fraternità complex, we climb to the Castle. Here you can admire the evocative parade ground and enjoy a 180-degree panorama that stretches from the Upper Arno Valley to the peaks of the Casentinesi Forests National Park.
The final stop takes us to Porciano Castle, located opposite. This perfectly restored tower structure houses the Ecomuseum of Rural Civilization. To conclude, a quick return to Pratovecchio following the cycle path along the river again.
