After leaving the village of Poppi, we immediately immerse ourselves in lush nature. The trail initially passes through forests of oak, maple, and chestnut trees, which gradually give way to majestic century-old fir and beech trees as we climb. Every bend offers a unique view of the valley, offering continuous photographic opportunities.
Once out of the forest, the large summit meadows welcome us. From here, the steep final climb to the Croce del Pratomagno begins. Once you reach the summit, the effort is rewarded with a simply incredible view: a panoramic panorama that encompasses the Valdarno, Florence, Lake Trasimeno, and Mount Amiata, all the way to the shimmering Tyrrhenian Sea.
The descent into the valley is equally thrilling. Through smooth paths and silent forest roads, we will return to Poppi with the satisfaction of having pedaled in one of the most fascinating and uncontaminated corners of Tuscany.
